12th Australian Conference on Safety Related Programmable Systems
The Australian Safety Critical Systems Association (aSCSa) will hold its 12th
National Conference on Safety Related Systems in Adelaide over two days (30-31 August 2007).
Software intensive systems are ever increasingly being used to perform safety-related tasks, but
despite their level of sophistication, all such systems have some operator/user dependence. How
operators use and react to the technology should be a key factor in the design of such systems.
Continuing the very successful format of recent annual conferences, a number of international and local
keynote speakers will address this topical issue. International speakers include:
- Nancy Leveson - Professor of
Aeronautics and Astronautics and Professor of Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, USA
- John Knight - Professor of
Computer Science at the University of Virginia, USA
- Chris Johnson - Professor of
Computer Science at the University of Glasgow, UK
- Carl Sandom -
Consultant, iSys Integrity, Dorset, UK
As in previous years, the conference proceedings will be published as part of the
Conferences in Research and Practice in Information
Technology series and a copy will be sent to all members when available.
A copy of the programme is not yet available (expected June 2007).
Copies of the proceedings from previous workshops are available from the
Secretary.
